I came to Cornwall as a teenager twice, on a summer camp at Pendeen with my two eldest brothers. The vivid memory remained, and I vowed to return one day. In 1997, I took a chance and moved to Falmouth, modelling at Falmouth College of Arts as it was back then. It has taken nearly 20 years to evolve a way of working that for me, best expresses the amazing & inspiring landscape of Cornwall with its elusive light, shifting colours – and stormy weather! Currently focussing on landscape & flowers. The other wing of my work concerns portraiture, people & all kinds of animals, with the odd tractor & boat thrown in. The biggest project, Truro Cathedral Choir Triptych took 13 years to complete. It is currently on show at St Peter’s Church Newlyn.
I welcome commissions, any subject.
